☄️☄️STAFF SPOTLIGHT ☄️☄️
☄️ Hi! My name is Amy Roach. This will be my 27th year teaching at Lostant Grade School. I will be teaching 1st and 2nd Reading, Writing, and RTI, Special Education Math and ELA, and 7th grade Writing. I received an Associates of Arts from Southeastern Community College in Keokuk, Iowa (1991), a BS in Elementary Education from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri (1993), and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Illinois State University in (1999). I also obtained a Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) Endorsement from Olivet Nazarene University in (2017).
My family consists of my husband, William, and my two children. We live in Hennepin, and we’ve been married almost 20 years. My son, Ian, will be starting college at IVCC and he will golf and get an associates degree. He would like to major in Psychology and his goal is to become a professional golfer. My daughter, Molly, will be a junior at Putnam County High School. She is a Pantera and enjoys running track. We also have a horse, Pegasus, an African Grey parrot, Madison, and two cats, Emme and Max.
In my free time, I write for the News-Tribune, the “Write Team”. It’s a lot of fun writing about growing up in Iowa, my students, my mom, exercising, and eating right. In my spare time, I enjoy riding my bike, walking, gardening, and hanging out with my family.
Teaching at Lostant is a blessing, I’ve loved every minute of it. I’m looking forward to seeing my students very soon!
