☄️☄️STAFF SPOTLIGHT ☄️☄️
Hi! My name is Melissa Einhaus. This will be my 30th year teaching at Lostant School! I am part of the 3rd-8th team, but also work with k-1st-2nd . I received my BS in Elementary Education (1990) and my first Masters in Curriculum and Instruction (1998) from Illinois State University. My second Masters in Reading Instruction is from Aurora University in 2010.
My family consists of 3 children/young adults. My oldest is my daughter Rachel, 22, who is a recent graduate of Northern Illinois University and living in Dekalb. My son, Dean is 20 and lives and works in Ottawa. He is my “car guy”. I also have a 15 year old daughter starting her sophomore year at Ottawa High School. Shelby is a cheerleader, FFA officer and plays trumpet in the band. My girls have ridden horses competitively for several years . Romeo, a red roan, and Dixie, a buckskin are their horses. We have 3 rescue dogs that are part of our family. Bunny, is a border collie mix, that we have had since she was a puppy. Cas is a pug/ Chihuahua mix, he lives with my daughter in Dekalb. Princess is our newest furry friend and she is a cocker spaniel. All of our dogs are about 10 years old. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and love to travel.
I’m looking forward to getting back into the classroom and starting a very different, but great year of School! I miss you all and hope to see you soon!
